Rugosas. Tough and Useful

These are some of the toughest roses. They are thorny and dense with disease resistant leathery foliage. Flowers which appear repeatedly throughout the summer are, in many varieties, followed by splendid hips which are often of giant proportion. Accompanying the hips the leaves will adopt various attractive hues in the autumn, this combination is stunningly beautiful.

Rugosa cultivars are rewarding even in difficult conditions and make excellent sturdy hedges or candidates for the mixed shrubbery.
