"May I welcome all rose lovers to talk to each other, and us, on this forum whenever you get the urge to do so. I confess to being computer illiterate I am far too old now to learn too many new tricks. This said I am only too well aware of the importance of the world wide web in reaching fellow rose lovers we would otherwise not be able to speak to regularly. It goes without saying therefore that the inspiration for our forum came from my daughter Amanda and son Richard together with our IT team Pete and Julia. I hope you enjoy your time here.

What is a forum?
An Internet Forum is an interactive website which allows you to post messages up so that other people can read them and respond to them.

How do I get started using the forum?
Before you can post a message up you need to subscribe to the forum by clicking on the "Register" link. You will then need to fill in the required boxes and pick a screen name for yourself to identify you when you are on the forum. For privacy reasons many people choose not to use their real names on the forum but instead will use a name like "RoseGrower1956" or "GreenFingers".

Once you have registered and have logged in you will find that you can then click into one of the rooms in the forum like "New Introductions" or "Growing Roses" and click on "Post new topic" to start a topic. You will also be able to reply to other peoples posts by clicking on "Post Reply" when you are reading a topic.

You can sign up and access our forum by clicking here and clicking on the register link.

Glossary of terms:
Forum: An interactive website which allows you to post up messages in near real-time for other website users to read and respond to.

Rooms: A room is a part of a forum, for example at the moment our rooms are called "New User Introductions", "Growing Roses", "Professional Rose Advice" and "General Banter"

Topic: A room is split up into topics which you can read and respond to. For example in the "New User Introductions" room the top topic (at the moment!) is "Welcome to Peter Beales Roses! by administrator" which you can click on and respond to.
