Mrs Herbert Stevens (Climbing Rose)

Description:
Introducing the enchanting "Mrs Herbert Stevens" climbing rose, a true classic that has graced gardens since its introduction in 1910. This robust variety showcases a remarkable capacity to soar up to 15 feet, making it an exceptional choice for adorning walls, trellises, or any grand garden structure.

Flowers:
Prepare to be mesmerised by the abundant blooms of "Mrs Herbert Stevens." Each flower boasts a delightful fragrance, enriching your garden with both beauty and scent. The large, shapely blossoms ensure a stunning display, captivating onlookers throughout the growing season.

Growth and Care:
As a repeat-flowering climber, "Mrs Herbert Stevens" guarantees a cascade of colour from summer into early autumn. For optimal performance, it’s crucial to implement proper pruning techniques. During winter, remove any damaged, diseased, or dead wood. A systematic approach works best—divide the plant's height into thirds and prune about 30 percent of each section. Additionally, training new growth horizontally will encourage an abundance of flowering shoots to emerge from the plant's base.

Suitability:
This versatile rose is adaptable to various garden settings, thriving on north-facing walls or even in pots, making it an ideal candidate for both small and expansive gardens. Enhance its vitality by feeding with a granular slow-release fertiliser post-flowering, and remember to deadhead the blooms to promote re-flowering.

Complementary Planting:
For a harmonious garden display, consider pairing "Mrs Herbert Stevens" with Clematis. Their complementary flowering patterns can extend the beauty and interest throughout the season.

By selecting "Mrs Herbert Stevens," you’re choosing a timeless, fragrant beauty that transforms any space into an alluring focal point, ensuring your garden is a testament to elegance and charm.
