How do I prepare soil for roses to ensure strong growth?

Preparing the soil properly is the most important step in planting roses. A well-prepared planting site ensures strong root establishment, which directly influences growth, health, and flowering in the first year. Always dig a deep, wide hole, enrich the soil with organic matter and slow-release fertiliser, and plant with the graft union 25mm below the soil to protect against wind rock and suckers. Once planted, firm the soil well and water thoroughly. Consistent watering and feeding will help your rose settle quickly, leading to vigorous growth and beautiful blooms.
